Introduction

SAVE THE DATE!

BACR TUMOUR MICROENVIRONMENT

and EX Vivo Preclinical Models Workshop

8th to 10th July 2026

at the University of Nottingham

Overview

Building on the sucess of four previous tumour microenvironment meetings, we will again showcase fantastic international tumour microenvironment research.

Venue

The meeting will take place at the University of Nottingham in our iconic, Grade II listed Trent Building, which offers breathtaking views over Highfield's boating lake, and is set in the midst of our award-winning University Park campus within easy reach of the city centre (https://www.nottingham.ac.uk/about/campuses/universityparkcampus.aspx).  We will begin with the -

3D Cancer Modelling Workshop (8th July, Day 1)

The workshop will focus on modelling the Tumour Micronenvironment in vitro.   It wil include talks from speakers describing the state-of-the art in modelling different aspects of the tumour microenvironment, innovative technologies that can be applied to interrogating the models and the application of such models in translation to the clinic.  The workshop will have opportunities for contributions from the attendees with selected talks from the abstracts, poster presentations and a panel discussion with an open floor discussion.  This will be followed by the -

Tumour Microenvironment Conference (9th to 10th July, Day 2-3)

Featuring talks from leading researchers investigating key topics in the tumour microenvironment, including a Keynote Talk from Doug Hanahan.  There will be sessions on state-of-the-art spatial mapping, host tumour interactions, mechanobilogy, metabolic regulation, metastasis, clinical translation and a first-hand insight into the patient's journey.  The conference will have opportunities for contributions from the attendees with selected talks from the abstracts in addition to poster presentations.  Registration includes attendance at welcome drinks on the evening of the 8th and the gala dinner on the 9th July providing additional networking opportunities.
