The British Association for Cancer Research (BACR) is the overarching organisation of UK’s cancer research. The Association covers all areas of cancer research from basic discovery science to clinical application, and is particularly focused on promoting and supporting early career cancer researchers. In 2025, BACR will have been actively supporting its mission for 65 years! To mark this anniversary, we are holding a special conference at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh, June 2nd to 4th 2025. The purpose of the meeting is to principally bring together cancer researchers from multiple centres across the UK, which is reflected in the event’s invited speakers that include some of the UK’s established cancer researchers, a number of its rising stars as well as research leaders from outside the UK. The meeting will be focused on five main themes: ‘Genes, Mutations and Repair’, ‘The Tumour Ecosystem’, ‘Immune cells and immunotherapy’, ‘Models, screening, profiling and imaging’ and ‘Novel therapeutic strategies and early detection’. The programme will also include a number of short talks chosen from submitted abstracts, two poster sessions, a trade exhibition, lots of networking opportunities and a conference dinner with traditional Scottish ceilidh. Discounted attendance will be available for BACR Members, Students and Early-Bird registrations.
On behalf of the BACR, I look forward to you joining us in Edinburgh for the largest broad spectrum cancer conference in the UK this year, that promises to be a an excellent, vibrant event that will connect and celebrate the very best of British cancer research.
Prof. Kevin Ryan,
Chair, British Association for Cancer Research
(on behalf of the conference organising committee)
