Helen is a Senior Lecturer in Prostate Cancer at Cardiff University, Associate Director at the Wales Cancer Research Centre and a CRUK Career Development Fellow. After finishing her PhD characterising novel models of prostate cancer, she completed a post-doc at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre where she investigated the role of cell polarity in prostate cancer and identified PIK3CA as a genetic driver of prostate cancer. Helen commenced her independent career at Cardiff University in 2016 as a Marie Sklodowska Curie Actions fellow, where her group is exploring overcoming resistance to targeted therapies in prostate cancer using proteomics and multiplex imaging, as well as developing new models of prostate cancer. Key research interests include improving the efficacy of DNA damage repair and PI3K pathway directed therapies and understanding the functional importance and predictive value of cancer-associated fibroblasts in prostate cancer.
