Throughout her research career, she has participated in the design and conduction of several national and international nutrition-driven clinical trials related to obesity, body composition, inflammation, and cancer. She also has extensive experience in molecular biology, with a particular focus on the molecular mechanisms linking nutrition, obesity, cancer, immune resistance, and their translation to personalized medicine applications.
Giorgia is currently investigating the relationship between obesity and cancer from various perspectives, including the effects of bisphenol exposure in obesity on breast cancer risk, the interplay between obesity, cholesterol metabolism, and immune resistance in cancer, and the impact of anti-obesity drugs on cancer onset, progression, and treatment.
