Stephen Tait is based at the School of Cancer Sciences, University of Glasgow, holding a joint appointment at the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute. Following postdoctoral training at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Stephen started his group in 2012, supported by a Royal Society University Research Fellowship. In 2017, Stephen was promoted to Senior Group Leader (Beatson Institute) and, in 2018, to Professor of Mitochondrial Cancer Biology (University of Glasgow). In 2021, he was appointed Deputy Director of the School of Cancer Sciences. Stephen's research focus is on mitochondrial regulation of cell death and inflammation. Current areas of investigation include understanding the oncogenic effects of cell death and modulating cell death to engage anti-tumour immunity.
